Jason Eric Melanson was born November 15th 1974 in Concord Massachusetts. Melanson's early art influences growing up in the east coast were and still are Graffiti and Comic book art. However he always appreciated the fine arts at a very early age. Such as Impressionism, Surrealism, Art Deco, Art Neuveau, and the Renaissance.

Jason studied Graphic design at Mount Wauchusett community college were after graduating moved to San Francisco at the age of twenty two. Jason then studied illustration at the Academy of Art University. After graduating he worked with Ground Zero Graphics as an illustrator and a graphic designer. Among the companies with whom he worked with Ground Zero Graphics were Firuze Clothing Co., Beluva clothing Co., Philip's Perfect Colors, G & R Paint Co., and Gump's. As a freelance illustrator, Jason's clients include Stars The Agency, Sterling Graphics, Ever Green Candy Co., Fetish Hair Salon, and private commissions and purchases.
Jason is inspired by many types of art and art movements, he integrates the many influences into his personal and unique style. "I try to dive into my sub-conscious weather it's keeping a sketch book by my bed to capture images from dreams, or waiting till absolute exhaustion to paint".

Jason now is focusing on having a new unified body of work that's best described as modern cartoon surrealism or pop surrealism.
